The Listening Room: A Soundtrack for April

Each month, we share one track. One sound that lingers in the background of Louët Feisser® — the kind of music you don’t stumble on, you discover. This is for those who move differently, dress intentionally, and hear beyond the obvious.

So Cold - Don-E, Azure, D'Angelo - Open in Spotify

"So Cold" is a standout track from Don-E's 2008 album Natural, featuring Azure and D'Angelo. This collaboration is notable for its fusion of UK soul and American neo-soul influences.

Background and Release

Don-E, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, is known for his contributions to the UK soul scene and his tenure as a bassist with Jamiroquai. In Natural, he showcases his versatility, with "So Cold" being a prime example. The track features Azure and D'Angelo, with D'Angelo contributing his signature Rhodes keyboard work. Recorded at Eastcote Studios in London, "So Cold" stands out for its rich instrumentation and soulful depth.

The Unreleased 'Azur' Project

"So Cold" was initially part of a larger collaborative project titled Azur, involving Don-E and D'Angelo. Unfortunately, the album faced publishing issues that prevented its official release. Despite this, "So Cold" managed to see the light of day through its inclusion in Don-E's Natural album, providing listeners with a glimpse into the unreleased Azur sessions.
